    I Offer High Seas

    http://www.ioffer.com/i/ww2-vintage-nazi-german-navy-high-seas-fleet-badge-rare-168245339

This looks good to me. $375 is big, but I Offer has the offer option.
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you,
    Chris

Horrible fake that might have come out of the UK in years gone by. Please use the search function to see what the badges by this maker should be like.

Thank you for the quick reply. Perhaps JB Militaria is not the best place to hunt. I have a worn High Seas which was well received here about 10 years ago. I guess this new prospect is not an upgrade.

        Hi Chris,

Embarrassing, as I think the seller is Australian! He's making like an African Ostrich though - he has his head in the sand.

This type of RS&S HSF badge is a fake from the 80s - from the same people who brought us the SHuCo Coastal Artillery and Fo Destroyer fakes. All nice looking from quality basemetals with believable hardware. All totally bogus.

Use the search function and you will find many threads on this fake. If you go back far enough, you will see comparisons with known genuine RS&S examples.

        Regards
        Mike

PS: I haven't looked at ioffer before - I haven't seen so much cr*p since I quit Epier! Anything remotely genuine seems to be 2x market price. Suggestion - use the E-stand!!
        Regards
        Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

He sells a lot of crap on Ioffer and eBay and is grossly overpriced most of the time.
