    Schwerin Minesweeper

    hi,

just picked up this Schwerin minesweeper. as you can see it has sadly been denazified.

    couple of quick questions:

    1. is it original?

    2. does it have any sort of value now or should it just be binned?

    cheers, del.

    Hi del,
    1) yes, it is original tombak Schwerin Minesweeper but denazified and the catch is replaced.
    2) it should never been binned but it is not a trasure or good investment, put it on estand and welcome offers - you will find out current value easily.
    Cheers,
    Hubert

An original badge that should definately not be "binned".

There are some members that collect de-nazified awards.

Try your luck on the e-stand.

      Regards,Martin.

          Hi del,

That's an interesting blob on the lower right waves on the obverse. It seems to correspond with the left side of the base of the replacement catch on the reverse. Looking at the reverse, does it look to you like someone drilled a hole right through the badge and soldered the new catch into that hole?

          Best regards,
          ---Norm

            hi norm,

you're absolutely right. hadn't noticed it before. looks like they punched a small hole through and flattened the end of the new catch on the wave side. no solder as it moves a bit still.

            cheers, del.
