    Screw Back Flleet Service Badge

I've had this one for decades. Converted either on board ship shore facility by the sailor it belonged to. Nice hand pounded brass back plate with the sailors name and home address in Schwienimundee scratched in the back. I tried years ago going through the WAsT trying to see what else I could find out about the former owner, but no joy

Anyway for something different to look at:

And the back plate with the name of the sailor, but naturally hard to make out . Nice hand hammered brass.

        Hi Kondor!
        Very nice Schwerin zinc HSF
City name is scratched incorrectly - should be Swinemünde not Schwienimundee City and port on Usedom island, Baltic Sea, where I was born and spent best part of my life. Present name - Swinoujscie - it is in borders of Poland since 1945. Let me know sailors name and address, I'll be there tomorrow for a weekend and maybe there is a chance I could help to find some more information you are seeking.
        Cheers,
        Hubert

Sorry Hubert, I should know better than going from my memory. It is spelt correctly.

The Sailor's name is: Krull Address: 32 Grashof 54 (S4?)

For whatever reason on the outside of the edge is scratched: SATTEL

On the other side away from the name and other information is: KYI 138

Naturally, any help would be appreciated

            Hi Kondor,
This is tricky and does not look like address
Sattel means saddle... KYI 138 might mean ship or unit code?
            Cheers,
            Hubert

Nice find! I have seen a couple of these for sale over the years and most collectors wouldn't touch them as they weren't textbook. I'm happy to see guys willing to take "educated" chances on these atypical pieces as so many nice items get passed by.

              Congrats!
