Hi, not the best of pictures or maybe its just me eyes.Going of those pictures looks like a copy of the french design, any chance of a side on view of the catch? Just wondering if its been replaced (strange looking catch thou), saying that however there is a blob where the tie bands should be and the award looks quite pitted in places. Im Giving it some benefit here but does not look good

Looks like a poor quality cast reproduction to me.
I would'nt have it in my collection
              All the best

                Hi Didier,

I think it's as "good" as any Bacqueville U-boat badge, and just heavily worn, a faded finish and replaced main pin and catch. You can see the replacement hinge pin sticking out the left side of the hinge on the reverse. You can compare it to the one Hubert posted in your other thread here.

Just not much of a collector's item I 'm afraid.

                Best regards,
                ---Norm
