4 Pics coming up. Appreciate opinions. There are some differences in the 2. Example: Maker mark appears differently, pin in left side of hinge one rounded, one with a cross hatch design. Opinions on both requested. First looks good to me, second?

The 1st one was made in Germany during WWII. The 2nd was made in Cave Creek, AZ around the 1980s.

Hi,

Lorenzo is correct imo. The first badge is a nice worn genuine tombak example, the second example (although maybe not actually made in Arizona, but has a strong association with Cave Creek) is one of the series of good modern Schwerin repros (massive hinge pin head, bendy main pin, poor obverse detailing, painted gilt finish rather than fire-gilding, etc).

Absolutely right, I have seen the second badge sold as original by a very reputable US dealer recently. I even linked his sales pictures here, no reactions in here from anybody.

Homework is essential in this case.
