The head of your piece seems to be a little corroded, maybe you can sell it for 2900€

Looks like Kadafi's petrodollars went on the market, somebody must have robbed one of his safes in Tripoli
              Cheers,

I value these in this condition at 2000+ euros. Maybe 2500 euros. They are just not that common in this condition. Add in a dealer markup since he probably got it for 2000 euros or so from a collector and there you go.

If you have a good story with it, more.

Wow, from 6.20 Reichsmark to 3000 Euro! How's that for appreciation!

In 1941 when this tombak badge was introduced, the exchange rate was 2.50 German Reichsmark to the American dollar. Thus the price of Alex's Schwerin was $2.48 U.S!

                        Today 3000 Euro is $4127.25.

So from $2.48 to $4127.25 over 70 years is an investment return of $1664.21 to the dollar!

What amuses me is that he had this "common" Schwerin piece priced higher than the Japanese made award on his site.

Ok,so it is a beautiful looking award, but not that hard to find in comparison to one of the Yokohama made awards.

One of these days i will just have to "bite the bullet" and buy that Japanese award.

I have five Schwerin's but no Japanese made award, yet.

                            Regards,Martin.

I think the logic is that collectors will pay the premium to complete the SB line of KM badges where the Japanese version might not even interest most collectors. I would say 98% of KM badge collectors are interested in SB badges, not sure the percentage would be anything like that for the Japanese one.

My take, but clearly, Winkler felt the same. John

And, as best I can remember, Kai has not had a SB AC badge for many many years. He likes to call the tombak Juncker AC badge a Schwerin though. Finally he has a SB so maybe he will stop calling Junckers Schwerins.
