Zerstörer badge with a problem.

Hi all,

I'm having a problem with my badge.

First, is a real one? A specialist of the Belgian Army Museum says it is, but I want a second opinion.

Secondly, the pin came apart from it.
What can I do to restore it?

Hi Frank,

A nice original Destroyer, and I think the maker is Deumer but others will correct me if this is not right.

Too bad about the hinge. The only thing I would personally do is possibly try to glue it back in the exact same spot. That doesn't hurt the badge and keeps the original hinge with the badge. I personally would NOT try to resolder it back on or replace it with a new hinge, that only reduces the value and the heat of resoldering can really affect the badge's finish.

I tend to agree...the features seem say an original badge IMO...

Too bad about the hinge but it should make it more affordable for you and is an easy quickfix...

Hi original Mayer/ schkinle destroyer, lovely finish, pity about the hinge but it could easily be repaired by someone who is carefull so that it does not stand out to much (apologies for the spelling)
