The badge in the thread starter is a known fake,"Cavecreek" i beleive?

George's badge is an original.

All original RS&S Fleet badges have a ball hinge and can be found with wide and needle type pins.

RS&S HSF badge which started this thread is a repro.
There are four different variants of RS&S HSF but, as Martin pointed, all have ball type of hinge.
