U Boat Badge with Packet

Hi pattiewhack,

It looks to me like a copy of the tombak Hymmen-like Deumer U-boat design with a spurious "Schwerin" stamp. I can't comment on the envelope.

Wait for other opinions as well.

The badge is a fake. Any chance of a picture of the back side of the packet?

Norm called it correctly here on the badge. You can even find these with spurious GWL markings and different hardware.

The packet is undoubtedly one of the Schwerin marked ones. I have one myself. Some people like them but personally I don't. You can find this design for the High Seas Fleet also. Marcus has done a bit research on these, not sure where he is with this at the moment, but he also now does not like these
