One of my favorite U-Boat designs is the "Pfortzheim" style badge.
Mayer,Schickle or Zimmermann are all nice ones to have.

Hi Janos,
I am glad I could be of some help. You have a beautiful badge there. To echo what Martin said, it is one of my favorite designs too.

I think we should start a club of Mayer U-boat badge owners (or any Pfortzheim style U-boat badge). We could see if we could create our own flotilla.

Believe it or not, this badge was in History-shop for a long time with an other Mayer which is in nearly the same condition as mine and last week my friend CharlieFirpo and me bought them.
The price was 630€ which I think not as expensive as Winkler's items usually are.
