Sure, fakers can read the posts, but as previously discussed, they have the genuine badges right in front of them and so if they want to improve their despicable art, that real badge is far better source of info than any discussion.
I think these discussions benefit only the collecting community, and help rat out the fakers.
BTW, Souval never used fire gilding, a technique used only on early tombak badges.
