      Well, I must admit that I would be fooled. Staegemeir I presume. What's the giveaway here that this isn't a real 1st pattern Schwerin U-boat if one didn't have a known Staegemeir for comparison?

        Hi Norm,


        if you compare the piece to the original wartime pieces, you will see the differences. Your maker guess is spot on, this was most likely produced in Eastern Europe and distributed in Dortmund.
