    Ship ID

Bought this photo last year on the E-stand, thanks Mark and have wondered for some time now what ship is it really?

It looks like a German torpedoboot but the Tiger was TG not TI. The Norwegean Tor was renamed Tiger but it looks different and probably didn't have the letters on the bow (commisioned June 1940)

So any ideas what we're looking at?

Well it is a Narvik class for sure but the 'TI' or 'T1' numbering is an odd one on me?? Perhaps it is a post war shot??

Only a post war if you are meaning post WW1.

I believe the flag is the most appropriate clue in this one. Flying the Reichsmarine from what it looks like.
      Interesting photo.
I am going to have fun researching this one

Here are some other shots of Torpedoboot Tiger.
One from the Bundesarchiv, the other from my collection.

          an Interesting site.

Just discovered this site. Pretty nice collection of postcards and able to see some pretty unique shots/angles of different ships.

Tried looking around for the T1, TI ship. No luck, but I will keep looking.

              Hi Frank,

The clue was there in Justin's posting of the photo from the Bundesarchiv.
It's the Raubtier class 1924 Torpedoboot Iltis (initials IT)!

              Best regards,
              ---Norm

Thanks for the input guys and believe you're right Norm

It's the Iltis, wonder how the photo got inverted though.

                  Good Eye Norm.

Maybe that camera used was upside down when snapped? Ha Ha!

                    Hi Frank,

if you now have this photo can you post it?
Mark is one of the really good guys to do buisness with on this forum,IMO.He always has quality images for sale and i have picked up many in the past from him.
If the image posted by Norm is the correct view of this ship i can only presume that your photo is an original print that was accidentally printed from a "flipped" negative,as we used to say in the trade?

                    Regards,Martin.

Norm's reversed image is correct. For another way to look at this photo, it is normal for most people, since most people are right handed, to wave with their right hand, not their left.

When the photo was developed, they reversed the negative.
