New to me too. BUT...the badge looks like the exact tombak counterpart to the unmarked zinc variety (See links below) I never heard of Deumer making KM badges, but the badge looks good to me and the mark appears authentic. Although many "L/11" marks are in a "box", I have also seen them like the one you show.

Interesting...I just checked Tucker's book and he has Deumer listed as a maker of the Mineweeper and U-Boat badges

Deumer definitely made KM badges. Don't know exactly how many, but they certainly made a U-Boat badge. There are "3" marked U-Boat badges around, and I've seen original Deumer paper packets for the U-Boat badge. If they made that one, they probably made other KM badges too. In fact I'm sure one of these L/11 Minesweeper badges has shown up once before.

Yup!! I just checked your book too, Gordon. Deumer ("3") marked u-Boat badges are listed there also.

Very, very poor pics of the last Deumer U-Boat I saw. Note it is the "FO" style.

The reverse pic is even worse I'm afraid. You can barely see the "3 in a box" stamp. Interesting to note the "C" clip is flat wire, mounted on the usual small baseplate before soldering to the zinc badge, typical for zinc badges in general but unlike FO.
There are bound to be unmarked Deumers around which makes one wonder how many may have been branded as "dodgy" FOs with the "wrong" style of retaining clip ?

In remember we always guessed the zinc counterparts of these Minsweeper badges were made by Deumer, because of the catch, which is very characteristic for Deumer. I am happy to see this proof now!

Also check this out, posted by Peter J from Sweden. It was a good indicator that the Deumer theory for the zinc examples with horizontal pin was right, because the obverse design is a 100% match.

Yes, Marc that is one of those where we guessed it was a Deumer badge. Now we know.
