    anchors and wings

I have interest in a small badge that has two anchors crossed with swaz and wings to the left and right. I can't post the pic but could e mail it to someone. It also has four small pins on the reverse that appears to attatch like a shield emblem. Never saw one of these anywhere. Could it be real or fantasy?? Comes from a legit collection. Did the KM have aviators or men who worked with Luft pilots on missions??? Just looks like a nice piece and thought it maybe rare. Thanks for reading.

    JJG,

Sounds like the emblem of the Seefliegerhortflugsicherung or S.FL.H.F.S.

Under command of the Luftwaffe these units were made up of Naval Pilots and Ships with the purpose of guarding Germany's Coastal Borders and to reconnoiter and escort and warn ships and boats.

The ships crew wore these insignia on visor hats.

Silver for technical personnel, and gold for deck personnel.

The insignia also came on machine embroidered form.

These caps were also worn by the Seenotdienst or Air-Sea Rescue.

The insignia was also worn on Overseas Caps.

Here is an example of the Overseas Cap insignia compared to the Visor Hat insignia.
