I was sitting at home late in the evening when the doorbell rang. I got a bit alarmed and it turned out to be a Russian guy who helped me move like 2 years ago.

He came in and opened a plastic bag and out this came

Hard to find ball hinge AGMUK in early issue case.

Don, it was like 900 at night and I had forgotten all about this guy. He is a houseclearer and the people wanted to give him extra money. He remembered me and asked if they had nazi stuff.

The woman who passed away appeared to be involved with RAD, I got her brooches and all that and a MC, and then out came the blackade breaker.

My friend was happy he walked out with some good money so maybe more visits will happen.

I do not known about the badge and the pin thus.

I am of course not confident, but this surface on the case looks very artificial and very much like the modern reproduction.
Notice also the very red rust on the button.

This is what I expect to see.

Right, I'm with you. There are indeed a couple of tricky fakes out there! Well, it's actually a good one in my opinion: it's one of the ''level base'' and dual hinge sorts.

There are a multitude of these case sorts from D&B constructed to KB based and the ''level'' non marked sorts (the latter can of course be an intergral difference to a one in the same case that previously had a KB base)

Hinges, catches and outer coverings vary, as do you sometimes get a mix of the internal make-up as the cased evolved (from our point of view as we dissect the cases) with the material usage - liners and base coverings of course differ as a consequence of the unilateral genre of case ''changes.''

I guess if you didn't account for minor variances in the evolution of any one case type there are seven specific BB case types. That is shell, base and outer covering attributes.

Well I trust you on this, since you are far superior in these matter than me , and I am for sure glad on behalf of Dior if this is original.

Another thing that made me suspicious was the of center pin in regard to the vertical line in the base.

He will come back with more original goods direct from the families. I made sure of that.

There is nothing wrong with this case and I have seen several variants of this exact type using the exact contruction materials..

The inner lining on most is a velvety texture, if you find any and do not like them please send them to me.

They are known in my region as early issue cases. It is good to know about these because they really do have a different appearance.

If you have not seen them it is probable you will pass them up and miss out on a good piece.

The 1t time I seen one I was a bit unsure until I really examined the liner and the material inside connecting the lid to the base. After feeling them out for 20 minutes you can tell it is of period construction. They just pop up from time to time and not so often.
