Here's my two cents worth (literally) while waiting for other opinions.

To me it looks like a well-done cast reproduction of a Schwerin design Destroyer with GWL-like hardware mis-applied. (Staegemeier perhaps? I only say this because of his fame as a reproduction "artist", not because of experience with his badges.)

hi, if this badge is a reproduction- I'm really shocked. -Is it definitely a copy?? is it possible that it looks new because of the photos takan with flash? in reality it seems to be original one. regards, martin

Hi sorry to say but personally I agree, metal looks wrong, wear looks applied, and eagle is not a design that I am aware of, not one for me. Any chance of a full straight on front and back shot of the entire piece? All the best

similar all details in my badge look in very well - goods looks like Schwerin Question beguile
If it is possible that badge is good

Hi Thanks for the extra pics have to say though my opinion remains the same, unfortunately this is not a Schwerin, check out the cabin area compared to a real schwerin, eagle does not match either amongst other things. The award looks very copperish in the photos as if its trying to be a tombac example, yet there appears to be what looks like zinc pest starting to form around the rim. Just some of my opinions, but still not one for me. all the best

Sorry Martin, not a real Schwerin. Here I've marked just a few of the many discrepancies, not to mention the different hardware and odd coloured base metal. Completely different really. And also completely different from a GWL.

It's true I lack the experience of many of the seasoned collectors here but this, you'll have to admit, is obvious...
