    what ship on hsf badge?

llast night whilst slightly inebriated in the pub i lost a bet that the Bismark had triple barrelled guns when in fact she twin barrels , i always thought that the ship portrayed on the hsf badge was the Bismark --which clearly shows triple gun turrets , which ship is it thats featured on this badge?

Scharnhorst and Gneisenau were the only battleships with two forward triple turrets.

Dave, That's cool man...I made the Scharnhorst at about the same age...and when I was 14 I made the Bismarck ...believe it or not I still have it many decades later - here's a picture of her today!

I kind of like this image. sort of mimics the badge except for the guns.

Here's a head on shot of the Scharnhorst from my collection. You can see pretty much all the features that appear on the badge.

Very interesting. I guess Scharnhorst makes more sense over Gneisenau since it was the newest battleship at the time the badge was designed.

But you have to admit, Justin's photo sure makes a nice fit! Maybe the designer of the badge was inspired by both classes.
                            Which ship is that Justin?
                            Best regards,

                              Interesting!

Without a doubt the Bismarck-class mathces the design far better than the Scharnhorst-class.

However, the three barrel guns is a dead give away!
