      Wow, you can really see the deterioration of the finish with all the small spots and such. This looks like a possible good one IMHO (which doesn't mean much) The hinge and such all appear to be consistent with what is considered a "good" Bacqueville badge.
      This is my opinion. These badges have too much controversy if they were indeed wartime issued or post-war.

      P.S. :The KM S-boat reference pinned thread is missing a good close up of the Bacqueville. If this turns out to be a good one, perhaps this can join the reference thread.

              I heard someone say once (I think it may have been Mike Kenny) that when he passes an opinion on one of these it always flicks through his mind that he might be looking at a fake of a fake or and original fake...who knows!

                Anyone that has one or wants to buy one must be aware of the consensus of the majority if you plan on selling in the future.

                If you don't presently own one .. I'd stay away. Unless you can get it real cheap. Then it maybe a good gamble. JMO.

                  I personally would not want one in my U-Boot collection......just my own collection parameters though.
