Hinge is upside down in the first example. Common to see this. Please show the front of the badge you just posted.

A beauty. My favorite badge including the eagle design--I know, Juncker looks better. Just glistens and that is what makes Schwerin stand out.

As I keep saying, nobody was walking around with a magnifying glass asking to inspect somebody's eagle! The overall quality of this badge spoke for itself. Yes, we can expand the badge until it fills a screen and see design features we may or may not like, but on a uniform, I think the finish is what made Schwerin stand apart.

          Just one opinion.

Remember, the timeline actually can be expanded a bit. This was the basic timeline that includes most of the Schwerin badges that a collector will encounter. There are some others that also fit into this timeline but are not identified specifically since they are rarely seen. Perhaps two more examples.

Rob Hudspith and I worked this timeline out many years ago as our best estimate based on design changes in known examples. It is not law by any means, but a pretty good guess.

Similar to the timeline for the RSS High Seas Fleet Badge.
