Wow, thanks for bringing up this old thread. Aside from the question about information on the vet, I'm amazed in retrospect to see that this thread shows an unmarked Schwerin Auxiliary Cruiser! Very unusual. I can't believe I missed Alex's post pointing that out back in 2009.

Has anyone ever seen another?

To date i do not recall seeing another unmarked tombak Schwerin.

A very rare piece indeed.

Hi Norm,

I had a look on all the threads about auxiliary cruisers on MFF and I could not find a second unmarked Schwerin. I think it's really rare!

For future reference, here are more photos of that unmarked Schwerin Destroyer that sold on eMedals. It has a "3" mark on the pin of unknown significance. An unsolvable mystery but the badge looks correct in every way for an early Schwerin Destroyer, sans the maker mark.
