        bastonge.

There is NO silver wreath version, it's just lost the gilt from the wreath which is common and normal for the 2nd type E-Boat badges.

        Nice badges by the way....

          Hi,

From what I can see, the e-boat is a genuine Schwerin zincer, although I'd like to see a pic with the pin closed and a close up of the top hook to be sure. These were always finished with agold wreath. However, 60 years after the fact, many of these examples now exhibit a silver or grey wreath. The gilt has either worn off, been absorbed or "faded to grey". Your example appears to have most of the finish intact but has faded to grey.

          Regards
          Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

Exactly, the gilt is either worn off or faded, and it appears to be the case here.As Mike also mentioned it looks like a good zinc Schwerin. This is a variant with the cut-out arms to the swastika, original Schwerin's can also be found with a solid swastika.

            Regards,Martin.

The top U-Boat badge is an early zinc Deumer, with the cut-out swastika, the one on the left is a marked L/56 Funcke & Bruninghaus.
I am not sure of the maker on the other badge.

                        Regards,Martin.
