    Need help identifying this unmarked U-Boat badge

    Hi Ed,

    A nice picture of the reverse would be helpfull but based upon the pictures you provided my best guess would be an unmarked L/56 for Funke & BrĂ¼ninghaus.

      Philippe is almost certainly correct. Funcke & Bruninghaus badges did have a very tiny die flaw, present on all their badges whether the wide pin or needle pin type, marked or not, but your image is too small to see it.
      On the left side wing as you look at the badge, the top row of feathers, innermost smallest feather, should have a very small raised blemish on it.
      If so, that would be 100% confirmation of F&BL.

                F&BL badges will show the small raised "blip", circled on the image here along the lower edge of the innermost feather. It isn't all that noticeable unless you are specifically looking for it but it's on every U-Boat badge by this maker I've seen.
