    silver sub clasp for review

    Hi all
I was offered this silver u-boat clasp for a reasonable price. It looks to me to be a good one but I have feelings it might have some issues with the hardware and maybe the eagle on the obverse? Any opinions are welcomed by the Kreigsmarine war badges collectors who frequent this forum and by anyone else who cares to obligue.
    Thank you
    Steve M.

I'm no expert but I don't like the look of it.

            Looks cast to me.

Maybe some of the experts can give you a definitive answer.

To me that looks like a textbook badge which has suffered from some sort of surface corrosion which has been cleaned off, i would happily own that one.

                          silver U-boot clasp

Original badge, heavily cleaned, due to the surface corrosion, as the other member have pointed out.
By the way nothing wrong with the hardware, the pin should be steel so it is normal to have corrosion on it.
                          Regards

Original badge, not heavily cleaned or cast.

Looks to be a very nice original badge, I'd have no problems with it.
