    AS 2nd Pattern S-boot

    Hi,
Previously placed at the end of the S-boot thread.
Badges are not my thing - this was given as part of a complicated deal and I'd like an idea of its value.
The initials on the reverse are those of the vet who brought it home - an M.S. who served in the Durham Light Infantry.
I'd like it to go to someone who gets as big a buzz from badges as I do from field equipment, so if there's a badge collector out there with a minty M43 stick grenade just say the word and I'm on my way!
Thanks in advance for any forthcoming advice,
    Cheers,
    Grossfuss

A bit more in my opinion, about 550 to 600 EUR in that condition. Even higher if the condition was perfect.
          Cheers, Frank

AS badges are some of the nicer ones you will find.

Nice badge indeed, and I have to agree with Frank's take on the value.
                  best wishes,

I agree with Frank also. If condition perfect, you are looking at 1400 US I would say. In early 2006 more or less perfect examples were being sold for around 1100 by Weitze and that was a fair price. He had two of them.

Have not seen too many since.

Remember there are two versions of this badge, scooped and flat reverses.

For a bit less than minty, 1200 US if you can find one.

                    John

Many thanks for all your helpful advice and comments, sounds like it'll make the next owner, whoever that may be, a very happy man!
I must confess that being a "mint-condition nerd" I'd have to go for that one of Jody's.
                        Best regards,

I would say $1400 for sure. Maybe more. John

I think you guys have failed to notice that there is a global recession going on at the moment, its ok saying that something is worth whatever, but just try selling it at the moment, personally i think Patrick W's valuation is the most realistic in the present economic climate.

As with everything, the price is what ever the person is able to get for the item.
                              It's all relative.
