The badge is original as established by the others above. Now the situation is to make sure you do not pay too much for it. Could you give us the range the seller is considering and ask for comments concerning that price since you have indicated you are thinking about buying it.

Originality is of course important, so is price.

If you could get this badge for well under the market, it would be a very good deal for this one.

Well, the badge is a good one but Lubo is thinking of buying it. I agree, it is a good example.

Jody is correct, it is a worn example--meaning, in worn condition, not necessarily meaning it was worn on a uniform. I think the worn area is actually tarnish upon closer inspection.

I value this one at 1800US maybe. Like to hear other opinions. Jody has the best example perhaps, but that is a one of a kind and lets leave that one out for pricing purposes.

For the usual outstanding examples, meaning very little wear with only bubbling under a pretty much intact finish, I put the value at 2000+ US, maybe a little more.

Like to hear other opinions on this.
