    Technical ?

Hello guys, I've recently received this beauty and after studying the details a bunch of questions occured to me: on this one there is very little gilding left,so I assume the base of the wreath was copper plated first, is Schwerin the only early navy maker with that practice?
    More ??? to follow

Are these copperish spills on the back only Schwerin 'trademark'?

        Technical ?

Were all the early badges by Schwerin supposed to go through that finishing process Copper(wreath)-Gilding(wreath)-Protective laquer(all)?
This one's got it all, it is just that I didn't have the chance to handle a lot of minty Schwerin types of badges
        Thank You!

I recommend that you call Bender publishing, talk to Roger Bender, and order Torpedo Los. This book will answer all your questions and many more. Far more detailed explanation than what can be gone into here.

Just google Bender Publishing, they have a number on the website. Say I sent you (heh, heh)
