Hello,

IMO.this badge is a fake.It is supposed to be a tombak badge but has the reverse hardware of a zinc badge.Pitting is visible on the reverse also.
No idea about the mini from the picture provided.

I agree with Martin, this badge does not do a lot for me either.

Martin and Jody have made valid points....does the piece look to be zinc? In the pix it appears to be a tomback style example as noted, and of course the hardwared would indeed not make too much sense on an early piece as noted. There are of course the exception here and there to this but most often not.
