    Auxillary cruiser badge, good??

    Hi Gents,

Please give me your opinions on this badge. Unfortunately, I only have unmarked Schwerin badges to compare this one to, so opinions would be greatly appreciated

        Hello,
That is not a real Schwerin Berlin mark. The badge you have is the Juncker type and the mark was added.

        Regards,
        Jody

Here is the reverse of a real Schwerin Berlin badge and hallmark:

          Hi Jody,

Juncker?? WOW!! I also think the badge is good, but that maker mark just does`nt do it for me! When comparing the unmarked Schwerin badges I have on file, it certainly looks very much like them, however, that mark just does not look right

I would`ve thought that this one was a Schwerin?

                Hi Dion,
The badge is good but the hallmark is bad. Your badge is the so-called Juncker type.

                Regards,
                Jody

Correct, there seems to have been a period of time that somebody put these fake stamps on fine Juncker badges to make them a bit more valuable, by a factor of 2.

I do not think it is completly ruined, but, the price is down 50% from the same badge without the fake mark. Say to $500. Just my opinion of this situation.

Yep,a nice original tombak badge of the Juncker type with a spurious Schwerin maker mark.I have not seen one of these for a while.
It still amazes me that a couple of German Dealers still refer to to this type of unmarked badge, that they have for sale on their sites as "typisches Schwerin".
                    Oh well.

                    Regards,Martin.
