My favorite U-boat badges + brass core EKI

Today I took some pictures of my two favorite U-boat badges. An early Hymmen & Co (left) and B.H. Mayer (right). Recently I bought a brass core L/16 EKI from e-stand/münster. I have always wanted to add one of these to my KM collection.

Nice pair of badges

I think, if you search the forum here, you'll find that the latest information points to the u-boat badge on the left of Deumer manufacture and no longer thought to be Hymmen & Co.

Hymmen for sure knew how to make their badges look just a bit different from the others.

Hello guys,

Thank you for your kind comments I really like the finish on these two submarine badges. I have one more, in Zink. In one way it looks like “the ugly duckling” compared to its golden sisters, but then on the other hand it has that good old “been there” finish. I do not know who the maker of this badge is. Maybe you can help me?

Tim is correct on your left u-boat badge. "Hymenn-like" or "Deumer" is the best way to describe it. Does not matter who made it, it is a beautiful badge.

The EK1 is great. Nice addition to your collection.
