    I just received this in the mail. It has just enough wear for that been there look.
    Can anyone tell me the maker?

    I recognized the maker but do not want to spoil the fun. Just a hint "PHAT" works great as a prefix!

      Hi Don,

      IMO thats an Assmann. See quit a lot of these popping up lately. Also very typical for these badges is the strange discoloration of the metal on the reverse.

      Is there anybody who has an explanation for that effect. Idon't think I have ever seen that except on these Assmann Minesweepers. Sea water maybe

        The metal is dicolored by the pin rubbing it when opening or closing because the catch has been bent almost closed.
