        Hi Brian.

Sorry, but from me it´s thumbs down.

This wound-badge was bought many years ago as
a fake and I still believe it is. Same maker and catch.

        Regards
        Peter

Hi Brian. I am agree with Peter's opinion. Uncommon pin system, uncommon maker mark and details of its obverse. I dont like it.

Don't get me wrong here, I'm not trying to sell or make a silk purse from a sow's ear, but this ugly badge is made of copper, top and bottom. Can't bend it, pin is magnetic. Again, not trying to make a story here but you sure this isn't just an ugly badge maker, genuine, but butt ugly?

              Hi Brian.

No, I´m not sure. But I´m pretty convinced that my WB
is bad. It features simularities with yours( metal, marking,
poor quality and the catch with opening facing left). The
marking is actually Berlin 14. You have to draw our own
conclusions of this. I hope I´ve been of to some assistance
              to you.

              Regards
              Peter

No thanks Peter, I have not made a conclusion. I'm leaning against it. Just curious. Don't mean to beat a dead horse, just curious about fakes in general or weird long necked goose looking originals. I'm not even neutral on this, I'm leaning thumbs down. I'm reasonable, just curious.

You need not worry about the badge being an original period produced badge because it is a butt ugly fake.

Thank you Bill for that vivid display of your professionalism.

This came directly from a Canadian vet in Victoria BC. I thought provenance was enough for you? Odd.

You of all people and the items you've been kind enough to display should know the value of showing the bad to collectors.

                      Dear Brian,

Maybe Bill "stumped" you a bit with his grumpy answer, but he is right, you should forget about that one.

                      Cheers, Frank

Hey I think it's butt ugly too. I'm trying to learn as much as possible and that means how fakes are produced. Cupol fakes can't be that common.

                          Dear Brian,

It is not a Cupal badge, possibly copper or let´s say a Buntmetall with a high copper percentage.

Speculating this could be real is like discussing the badges below:

                          1) A Coastal Artillery Badge by "Lützenbach" (sounds great, doesn´t it?)
                          2) Flak Badge by "Oskar Bottler Bautzen" (you gotta love them for the Bautzen part, and isn´t Bottler cool as well?)
                          3) Pleuger & Voss Badges

                          Cheers, Frank

Nice collection of ugly crud. Feel free to add the CA with the goose neck to the crowd. I've seen goose necks on several dubious badges.

I knew it was going back to Vic BC when I saw it.... But, had to consider from all angles.
