High seas fleet badge, Friedrich Orth, right or wrong?

    Hello everybody

I have got a high seas fleet badge with maker mark of Friedrich Orth, its a zinc badge.

I never had a high seas fleet badge, but I know that Friedrich Orth has produced this kind of badges. I also know that there are two difftrent pieces, one piece with seperate hinge and catch and the other as " one piece" .

My piece has a tombak needle.

    My question is:

Is this badge an original or a fake? What do you think?

    thanks for your help!

    V.

Yes, this is a fake. There were two types of FO HSF badges, one with cast in hardware. If you do a search for FO badges, you will see the two on this forum and you will see why yours is not period.
