    Unmarked U-Boat Clasp

This badge has no markings, and looks like a zink base metal. Is it an original or another disgusting fake? Regards, Robert

The quality of the piece looks fine to (layman) me. I like the hinge and pin. Is this a replica? I'd appreciate the help, from those that know these badges.

        Regards, Robert

          Hi Robert,

Not an easy one I think. The pin looks like what you'd find on a Meybauer cross but the obverse design is nothing like Meybauer U-boat badges.

It does appear to be very similar in design to some of the better Fo repros.

The basemetal looks OK but the finish on the reverse looks a bit strange (?sprayed).

I don't recall seeing that hardware combination on a U-boat badge before (genuine or repro).

Let's see what others have to say.

          Regards
          Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

Sure looks good. Maker? No idea.

Hi Robert have to say would not be for my collection, the reverse hinge and pin looks like what you would find on some fake I C, WW1 to my knowledge. The wear to the reverse looks somewhat artifical. Also if you move away from the sweeping loss of colour you can see small like blobs of wear which always makes me suspect. Have to say that this is just my opinion, and as Mike has said eagle does has a resemblance to some of the fake F.O, maybe a better pic of the front would help. All the best
