    U-Boat Clasp

This clasp does not look like zink, but I wanted to ask opinions about it. The letters are alos very nicely alinged - too nicely? This is supposedly from a vets haul, but who knows. Any opinions on it? Regards, Robert

I think this one looks OK...I have compared it to known originals and I really dont see anything wrong with it. But wait till the experts come around...

        Regards,
        Chris G.

              IMO, not an original.
              Best regards,

I agree - the lettering, materials, finish, and even some obverse details just looked off. Thanks for the inputs! Regards, Robert

Yes, the lettering is perfect (unlike originals) and the catch is not crimped in as per originals - you did well to disregard the story! Those two points alone are enough to condemn this spange back to the scrapheap.

                    Regards
                    Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!
