Sub Badge - Does This Go Into Repro Pile?

I have had this thrown back as a fake. The guy I bought it from as a repro had obtained it in the early 80's. I was told it was an indirect Vet purchase.

Before I list on the estand Bazaar section, wanted to confirm that these hollow back Sub badges are no good.

    Thanks in advance.

        Hello Jeff,

Yes! Sorry, but this one is a fake in my opinion. Not only because of the stamped consruction, but also because of the hinge, pin and catch.

        Best regards,
        Tom

Does this go into the repro pile?

I have one of these hollow U-boat badges that is 100% fake that I bought from Globe Militaria back in 1975.The owner told me at that time they were made in England????????? and that it was a fake.

                  Enjoy your hobby

Thanks Dennis - The time period sounds correct. He got it from a dealer in 1982. It was a throw in on my deal, but he did pay $60 back in the day, so not good for him. $60 in 1982 was fair money.
