I am sorry to say that I am a bit confused with the measurements.........I think you have written cm instead of mm? can you confirm?

If this would be a 9 mm I would give it a fair chance, but if it has the strange measurments then I´m not so keen on it, BUT I cannot dismiss it 100 %........

                Hi Phil,

You need to measure this mini once again, preferably in mm only. The numbers you've provided makes an impossible combination.

                cheers
                Peter

Try again Phil, I can tell from here those numbers are not correct

Peter I think he means that the width of the badge is 18 mm and the height is 12 mm, and the pin i.e. the needle is 5,5 cm (PS the length of the needle itself is irrelevant, but you already know that)

So if these are the correct measurements I have little hope for this pin, BUT the construction and material is not that bad......................

Let´s hope that someone can shed a light on this pin............

                        Hi

Thanks to All for your precious help. The miniature is not mine and I have only the informations the seller give to me.
He wants 50 euros for it but I have not a very good feeling with this miniature...

                        Regards

                        Phil

Phil, here's an explaination as to why the figures can't be correct. A badge with the width of 18mm should be approx. 14.85mm high and should have a ratio of 1.21-1.23 (witdth/height). Consequently should a 16mm badge measure 13.15mm in height. By looking at your badge, it's obvious that the numbers presented by you are not correct (a ratio of 1.5) and I can only assume it's actually a 16mm badge. I also assume the base metal is zinc, due to the grey area on the chest of the eagle as well as the zinc-pest. The image doesn't clearly show possible knurlings on the pin, but if they are rather wide apart and the badge indeed is 16mm, I would not rule this one out as a fake. However I agree with Peppe and would wait for a better offer.

                            cheers
                            Peter
