    Dave,

Nothing wrong with the second badge, I have one just like it and it came off a U-359 sailor. The finish on mine is more greenish-bronze, but the other traits are the same.

        Dave,

I didn't have time the other night, but thought I would post a front and back of mine so you can compare the two. You will notice the same little die flaws if you look closely. The pin tip may have been clipped on yours, but they look the same IMO.

            thanks tim

what die flaws do you refer to?

dont you think the eagles heads look somewhat different around the beak?

            cheers

              Hi Dave,

As far as die flaws, look closely at the wreath and you'll see little "blobs" where the die probably started to wear down over time. There are other areas as well.

As far as the eagle "beak" looking different, take into account slightly different angles of the PICS, shadow and different wear between the two. IMO, they are the same.

Thanks for the extra picture Tim; yes it has totally put my mind at ease; my badge does have the same die flaws and you are right: the angle of the different pictures can put a slightly deceptive spin on things.

many thanks once again guys: most appreciated
