Blockade Runner Badge & 1/2-size mini.

Hello to all,

Picked up this zinc Blockade Runner Badge today along with the half-size stickpin, also in zinc. Most of the original silvering remains on the eagles. Thought that the finishes are really nice for zinc examples.

A real nice looking set Tom.These Schwerin BB badges in zinc seem to hold their finish well,probably because of no guilding.My Schwerin zincer is one of my favorite badges.

The stickpin mini is 24.64mm in diameter, which is about half the size of the full size badge, which measures 49.08mm.

Yes! Both the full-size badge and the half-size mini are made of zinc. You can tell because of the bubbling to the finishes and the style of attachment hardware on the full-size badge. A buntmetall version of this badge would have no need for a catch plate: i.e., the catch would be soldered directly to the badge on the buntmetall version.
