While the badges are period, it is the price that can make or break this deal. My recommendation is to post the price the seller wants for these badges and lets discuss it a bit. Yes, the L/13 is a fairly rare badge, but the condition of this one is not that great.

The L/56 is in good condition.

Thomas Huss has a decent L/13 for sale for around 760 euros I think and it is marked. So that is a start for you. Your example would be worth far less IMO.

So now that you know that the badges are real, you need to determine the price. The price range does not come from us, but the seller and if it is a good deal, then, if you want the badges, buy them. If the price is too high for the badges posted, then I would pass. John

Both badges are original, but I would opt for the L/56. The finish on the L/13 is just too badly damaged from corrosion. It just does not look nice with that spotted appearance. Even though the gold wash on the L/56 is totally absent, it still looks nicer by far. And the detail on an L/56 is superb and the best of any zinc U-boat, in my opinion. Regardless, the prices on both of these badges are very reasonable. (If I remember correctly, the L/13 is just a bit over $300. and the L/56 is just under $300.)

                          Best regards,
                          Tom
