        Dan,

IMO not a good one.The AS badges i have seen to date have a ball hinge and a needle pin.MM does not look quite right also.

        Regards,Martin.

          Hello Dan,

Sorry, but this badge is not original. It looks like it is made of lead. The front looks artificially aged. The pin, hinge, and maker mark are all wrong. The crimped catch looks almost believable though.

          Best regards,
          Tom

The maker mark looks like my 4-yr-old made it!

              Hi Dan,

As others have stated, this is a bad badge. Basemetal, hinge, pin obverse detail, profile and maker mark are all incorrect.

              Regards
              Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

You really should put a warning on threads like this to protect peoples eyes. That is one of the worst fakes I have seen in a while.

                    The crimped catch is scarey.

                      Dan,
Sorry for the bad news. For those of us that have been here for a while it is hard to express our feelings toward a bad fake without making it sound like a personal attack, and I apologize for the harsh comments. As you progress you will realize how bad that badge really is and wonder how you ever could have thought it was original. The best way to do this is search for AS marked badges in this forum and go from there. To help you start out, here are a few pics of an original AS minesweeper that I just picked up.
                      Cheers,
                      Brian

                              Thanks,Brian and Martin,
I do appreciate the help and photos . Brian's badge should be posted on the minesweepers link . They do not have one posted for AS .
                              Thanks Again
                              Dan
