Hi Mark,
It's a nice early original worn tombak badge. I believe I've seen these marked with L/18 on the pin, so Mayer is the probable maker.

I also believe that these were made by B.H. Mayer. Here is a badge by the same maker, only in zinc.

Hi guys,
I'm interestingly looking at these nice badges, but isn't the catch different on both? The one from Mark seems rather rectangular, and the one from Tom seems round. In my humble opinion, I don't think it's related to one being in tombak whereas the other is made in zink.
