Upgrade to the EBoat 2nd Pattern?

I have a 2nd pattern eboat that has been posted and gotten the thumbs up. It is referenced here by example "A". Because the hook was missing and the finish could be better, I purchased a better looking example. This is "B". I have looked over the new purchase and it compares favorably with the first example. The weight is similar and the measurements match. Both badges vary a little bit in the crispness of detail. One has slightly better this and the other has slightly better that. That does not bother me. Also the double edge stamping in the swastica and bottom wreath are the same. The "A" example shows some bubling of the finish while "B" does not. I would like an opinion as to whether B is a good upgrade for me and if the finish is good. Additional pictures available as necessary. Thank You, Richard

I'd say anytime you can aquire a "complete" badge, it is better than one that has broken or missing pieces.

In this case, I would go with B as well, even if the finish was a little worse than A. That's how I feel about "complete" medals.

I agree with Darrell! Badge "B" is in my opinion an upgrade overall
However, I do not collect KM badges my self, so I am no expert at all!

        Beautiful badges both of them!

I would check out the finish on the waves on this one, may have been redone. Originals do not have the bottom of the hull finished like this, they would have originally been gold but are commonly found where this has lost the colour and "faded" to silver like badge A

I have to agree with Rob.The hull looks like it has been repainted.

I believe that your new badge is fake. I would like to see some better images and close-ups to make sure. I see a number of things I do not like. best wishes,

It seems to me the pin on "A" was replaced at some time but "A" is a good badge so that pin is not material to this discussion.

I will post some good close-ups tomorrow. If the badge has been repainted, it would not be for me. Thanks

The problems are much worse than a repaint. It is a complete fake. best wishes,

Let me clarify my position, I was trying to be nice but I think you need an answer ASAP, it is a 100% reproduction. John

                        Hello Richard,
Jeff and John are correct this badge is a complete fake and I know of at least one for sale at the moment-hint: Cave Creek.

                        Sorry.

You guys are good! It had me on the fence. Live and learn. I guess I will live with the broken hook and be happy about it. There are a lot of features in the badge that are very convincing. Fakes are very disheartening - they give you nightmares. Not the first time I have made a mistake and probably not the last although I wish it weren't so. Thank you for your help on this one. The seller has agreed to take it back so we will have a good ending. Richard

Nice work guys.. This would fool me (and that is probably why I do not collect KM badges before I learn more about them)..

Glad the seller are willing to take it back rfleming32!

Did not look closely at this one to check if was a fake as you said the weight and size compared?, what was the weight and size of this copy, one would have thought it would have been smaller if a cast copy also the cave creek repro of these have all been quite a bit heavier?
                              Regards, Rob
