Looks like a good zinc to me. The hinge platform looks like it has been worked on or was poorly done in the finishing process and the obverse is not that crisp in your photo to study various parts of the ship in detail. I pretty much agree with John, a genuine Schwerin zincer with possibly repaired hinge. Better pics in this area would help. Any apparent loss of detail on the obverse is imo a combination of imagery and deteriorating finish.
