Hi Guys,

Would very much appreciate your input on this Fo U-Boat badge.

Generaly I think it looks ok but I have 2 problems with it.

1. The FO mm. just doesn't look consistent with others I have seen.
2. The finishing arround the U-Boat seems a little crude.

It's not my badge and I'm not planning to buy it. Just would like to now if it's ok or if it's a realy highend repro.

Hi George,

I know yours is beautifull and 100% ok this is how I would like an FO to look.

Phillippe ! If I remember correct Gordon W had a comment on this FO U - Boat Badges earlier . Try to search on FO - U - Boat Badges . I think it was my or Lorenzo that started that thread .

Hi Guys,

All very nice badges and I already saw them but that isn't my point. What about the one I posted.

Maybe I should make a statement and than others will feel the urge to proof me wrong.

It's My opinion that The badge I posted is a very good fake.

And that was also my reason for posting it so everybody could make a copy of it for their "fake files".

Because of the 2 reasons posted at the start of the thread, and because the eagles head that shows similarity with yours and Jan's but isn't realy a perfect match.

I believe you are very correct that this is a new high -end fake.The MM is different from all originals I have seen,and the hinge shows no signs of being in a recess as all originals should be in.

Hi Steve,

First of all welcome to the forum, just saw that this was your first post.

Your correct about the recess area. I didn't mention it before because based upon these pics I wasn't able to see if the recess area was there or not.

But I still would like to here some comments from the U-boat experts to be 100% sure. I also feel that if it is a fake than it is probably the best FO fake that I have ever seen. And I can imagen that a lot of collectors would buy these badges if they never before held the real thing in their hands.
