      Hanzel,

Join the forum and you can see the study of these badges by Rob Hudspith at the top of these threads. Be the cheapest way to learn good from bad for this badge.

This one is a fake IMO. John

Makers mark is correct on this but looks very soft and worn, hard to tell from poor photos but possibly a copy cast from an original

OK, then where we stand Hanzel is that we need better images of this badge, front and back with at least a 6 megapixel camera. Also need an image of the badge from the back with the pin down.

Would like to see then a close in of the top half the front, full front, full reverse pin down, full reverse, pin up, all straight on shots.

I do not see the die characteristics that should be present though, so I would pass on this one.

Without this, we are not 100% sure and can't help. John

                Hi,

I agree with Rob's evaluation - a decent casting of a genuine badge. Lots of finer details (eg portholes) appear to be missing or very weak. The hinge and main pin look off. That last image (post#7) nails it as a casting for me though - the cast line is very visible on the inner edges of the badge.

                Regards
                Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!
