    Schwerin High Seas Fleet w/Bag

Was wondering if anyone has ever seen a "Bagged" Schwerin High Seas Fleet badge as seen in the pictures below.

Any help would be appreciated because I have never run across one in a bag before.

Sorry about the pictures, this is a possible purchase and this is all I have to go on for now.

    Thanks
    Mike

Good Luck finding the answer to your question there, I have no clue about the packet anyway, but I could find this one (sorry, no reverse, but it's supposed to be a Schwerin Berlin Award Bag)

              Mike,

Nice looking HSF; would like to see the fornt close-up just for looking at the finish, but the badge is a real looker IMO.

The envelope appears to be of the correct blue used on these, but these are often faked as well. I know Hueskin has had one (or several??) for sale on his site for several years now and not sure about that one either.

Tim - the one I found is actually from Hueskin.... - kinda like the Foerster Packets of the EK2s, huh?

He's had them (at least one) for quite awhile. I remember first seeing one listed for 20 Euros..back when the Euro was a little less than a dollar.

That probably sounds like "back when I had to walk a mile to school everyday and it was uphill both ways..." to you new guys.

Badge is a correct period piece. John

                      Hi,

I have no problems with the badge, even from the tiny pics, but I'll be interested to read what is said about the packet. I'll make one point on this packet though, it looks like it has never had a badge in it as there appear to be absolutely no "badge impressions" on the packet. I'd have though that some sort of badge impression (especially a badge with proud pinback hardware) would have been imparted to the packet after 60 years in a packet, regardless of storage.

                      Regards

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

Probably why it's been in his inventory for several years.

I agree wholeheartedly with Mike. Every badge I have ever run across that was in a packet showed wear from the hardware of the badge. Here we have what appears to be a slightly worn original HSF with a brand new packet that looks to have never had anything in it. Unless the price of the badge is good I would pass. best wishes,
                          jeff
