Difficult to tell from those pics.

To start with compare your catch with the pic of the catch posted by Gordon in this thread (page 6):http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...hreadid=21224.

If it's the same you can be sure it's a fake.

If it's not try to post better Pics.

Hi,

The hinge/catch on that badge do not look like wartime Souval production to me. I guess there is the possibility that the hinge and catch have been period repaired but, personally, I'd avoid this one.

I dont like the hinge and catch at all, I would stay away from this one. Like Mike said, could be a period repair but what are the chances (besides, it does not look like a repair)

i agree that the catch and hinge isn't repaired at all.
it's easy to see when holding it in your hand.
