        Sorry Marcus all wrong in my opion, GWL's I have seen are made in zinc and do not have the brass/polished finish as yours. The hinge and catch are also cast in one piece with the badge. I have attached a photo of an example

        Stay away from all u-boat badges with hooks on top, don't know of any with this feature, also only a few manufacturers used the horizontal pin on these (FO for example) and from memory were all of the needle pin type not the broad pin as per yours.

          I agree 100% with Rob, that hinge/pin/catch/tophook setup is totally bogus.
