    HIGH SEAS FLEET - authentic??

Hi all: (I posted a similar thread in the wrong area- here it is again)
Here is a High Seas Fleet badge that I recently acquired. Sorry for the 'unnatural' lighting. The wreath is actually a beautiful gilt color while
the ship is grey. It has the maker mark 'f.o.' on the reverse. The pin catch
is broken. Opinions as to authenticity and value please.

        Hi Ernst,

From the pics, this one looks more like a cast copy from a shiny coloured basemetal rather than from zinc. Lots of strange scratching and small dings, poor obverse detail and what looks loke a post-war pin purther point to a probably repro.

        Regards
        Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!
